The QA Level 2 Award in CitizenAID (RQF) has been specifically developed to help members of the public learn life-saving skills for use in these extreme situations. During this 3 hour course, candidates will have the opportunity to practise techniques for dealing with catastrophic bleeding and will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to save lives in the aftermath of an emergency situation for example a terrorist attack.

QA Award Basic Life Support & Safe Use of AED 2 4 hrs £20

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (RQF) qualification has been designed to provide candidates with the skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support and use an AED safely in emergency situations. With an estimated 60,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests occurring every year in the UK alone, make sure you are prepared!

The QA Level 2 Award in Basic Life Support for Adults and Children (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed to equip candidates with the essential skills needed to administer safe, prompt and effective basic life support in an emergency situation. It is the perfect qualification for those who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to provide basic life support for adults and children. The QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to perform CPR and use an AED safely in an emergency situation.

QA Award in First Aid Essentials (RQF) 2 6.5 hrs £45

The QA Level 2 Award in First Aid Essentials (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific interest or responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid in emergency situations. Successful candidates will be equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including:

  • CPR
  • Choking
  • External bleeding
  • Shock and minor injuries.

Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QAR) 2 4 hrs £20
The purpose of the Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (QAR) is to prepare the Learner to develop the skills and knowledge that are needed to safely use an AED. This qualification is for people who have specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities to be able to use an AED when dealing with an emergency situation. The objective of this qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with the use of an automated external defibrillation (AED). This QA Level 3 First Aid for Activity (RQF) outlines a range of knowledge and practical skills for providing emergency first aid in activities. Learners will practise assessing and managing an incident and demonstrate how to treat a variety of conditions from life threatening illnesses to minor injuries. Certificate valid for 3 years

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) qualification is designed for individuals who wish to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace. The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:
• Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.
• Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills. Certificate valid for 3 years

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:
• Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.
• Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.
• Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Combined FAW & Paediatric FAW (2 quals) (RQF) 3 3 days £250
Combining the QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) and the QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) into 3 extended days of classroom learning, this specially designed course enables candidates to gain the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid, whilst minimising the number of training days required to achieve both qualifications.
Candidates will cover a range of topics needed to provide effective first aid for adults, children and infants including CPR and defibrillation, choking, stroke, head injuries, asthma and much more. Certificate valid for 3 years

Training Courses

Trainer Skills (City & Guilds) 2 2 days £99

The City & Guilds Introduction to Trainer Skills is designed to provide participants with a sound introduction to the concepts of a systematic approach to training. It is comprehensive in content at this level, building the skills, knowledge and abilities of a participant that is required to be an effective trainer.
On completion of the Introduction to Trainer Skills, learners will equip themselves and their employer with a member of staff who is able to plan, deliver and evaluate effective training, no matter what the content of the subject they are delivering.
The course is based on the training cycle, covering three main areas:
• planning (including session planning)
• delivery (participants will deliver a 10 minute ‘session’ that they have planned)
• evaluation (self, peer group and course evaluation).

Anyone, in any role, who trains or mentors other employees in their organisation should consider this qualification.

Award in Education & Training (Qualsafe) 3 5 days £250

The QA Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed to be an introduction to teaching for those who work or would like to work in the further education and skills sector.
Over a 5 day period, candidates will build an understanding of the specific roles and responsibilities related to planning, delivering, reviewing inclusive training sessions and reflective teaching practice. Topics covered include:

  • Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment
  • Assessing learners and providing constructive and developmental feedback

At the end of the 5 days, participants will be assessed on delivering a 30 minute microteach that they have designed, planned and prepared themselves.
Successful candidates will leave with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to prepare them for teaching in a wide range of contexts, in environments such as Further Education (FE) Colleges, Local Authorities or independent training.

 

*Daily Trainer rate of £250.00 available for groups of between 6-12.
